- Power and water must be connected and available at the property.
- Tell us about stains, pets or recent spills in the booking form’s instructions field.
Carpet cleaning at the end of a lease
If you are moving out, check what your tenancy agreement and condition report say about the carpets. In Victoria, renters must leave the property reasonably clean, with fair wear and tear excepted, and the condition report from the start of the agreement is the reference. Since 29 March 2021 a rental provider can only require professional cleaning at the end of the tenancy if the property was professionally cleaned immediately before you moved in and you were told, or if it is needed to return the property to its condition at the start, allowing for fair wear and tear. Carpet steam cleaning can be added to an end of lease clean in Hoppers Crossing in the same booking. Moving out? See moving out and claiming your rental bond.

How we clean carpets
Our carpet cleaning is a steam clean (hot water extraction):
- Heavily marked areas are pre-treated to loosen dirt and spots.
- Hot water and cleaning solution are worked through the carpet fibres and extracted with the machine, taking the loosened dirt with them.
- As much water as possible is extracted, so the carpet is left damp rather than wet.
Keep the room ventilated afterwards and avoid walking on the damp carpet in outdoor shoes. How long it takes to dry depends on the carpet, the weather and airflow.

Stains, odours and what to expect
Steam cleaning lifts everyday soiling and many spots, but results depend on what caused a stain, how long it has been there and what has already been used on it. Some marks, such as dyes, bleach spots or old pet urine, may only fade or may not come out at all, and wear in high-traffic paths is not dirt. Tell us about stains, pets and recent spills in the booking form’s instructions field so we know what to expect.
If something spills before we arrive
- Act quickly: scoop up solids and blot liquids with a clean white cloth or paper towel.
- Blot, don’t rub, and work from the outside of the spot towards the middle so it does not spread.
- Use only a little water and avoid soaking the carpet; over-wetting can spread a stain into the backing.
- Before using any product, check the carpet’s care guide and the product label, and test on a hidden spot.
Looking after carpet between cleans
Regular vacuuming, especially in hallways and other high-traffic areas, removes grit before it wears the fibres, and doormats at entrances keep a lot of it out. Your carpet manufacturer’s care guide is the best reference for products and cleaning methods for your carpet type.
Carpet care for Hoppers Crossing houses and rentals
Most homes here are freestanding. In the ABS 2021 Census, about 85% of occupied private dwellings in Hoppers Crossing were separate houses, about 8% were semi-detached houses or townhouses (most of them single storey) and about 7% were flats, nearly all in one- or two-storey blocks. Roughly one home in four (26%) was rented.
What that means when you book:
- Count every carpeted room, including the hallway, study or rumpus room, so the price on the booking form matches the job. Larger open living areas need to be confirmed with us.
- In a single-level house the hallway links most rooms and tends to show the most wear. Note traffic paths, pet areas and spills in the instructions field so they can be pre-treated.
- Renting? Check your lease and condition report first, then add carpet steam cleaning to your end of lease clean in the same booking.
- Clear toys, small items and anything fragile from the floor. Our cleaners move light furniture only.

Keeping Hoppers Crossing carpets dry after a steam clean
Hot water extraction leaves carpet damp rather than wet, and airflow decides how quickly it dries. Victoria’s Better Health Channel lists carpet and curtains among the furnishings mould can grow on, and calls opening a door or window the cheapest and easiest way to reduce moisture and humidity in a room.
On the day of your clean
- Open windows and doors if the weather allows, and leave internal doors open between carpeted rooms.
- Use the bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans while showering or cooking, as Better Health recommends for reducing condensation.
- Hang washing outside or use a vented dryer rather than a clothes horse over the damp carpet.
- Keep outdoor shoes off until the carpet is dry.
If you can see or smell mould, Better Health advises cleaning it up straight away, and suggests an occupational hygienist or environmental health professional if it keeps returning and the source is unclear. In Victorian rentals, the Consumer Affairs Victoria minimum standards say all rooms must be free from mould and damp caused by or related to the building structure, so raise it with your rental provider or agent. We’ll bring the steam; the sock-only victory lap is yours.

Carpet cleaning in Hoppers Crossing: questions
Do you do wet carpet cleaning in Hoppers Crossing?
Our carpet service is a steam clean (hot water extraction), which uses water but leaves the carpet damp rather than soaked. It isn’t a flood or water-damage service. If carpet has been soaked in a flood, the Better Health Channel advises getting expert advice from your insurance company before cleaning or throwing out water- or mould-damaged items.
How long does carpet take to dry after steam cleaning?
There’s no fixed time: it depends on the carpet, the weather and the airflow in the room. Opening windows on a mild day and keeping internal doors open helps, while a cold, still day usually means slower drying. Stay off it in outdoor shoes until it’s dry.
Can carpet steam cleaning remove mould?
We don’t promise that it will. Mould is a moisture problem as much as a cleaning one, so tell us about any mould when you book, and if you rent, report it to your rental provider or agent first. For everything our steam clean covers, see carpet cleaning: what’s included.
How is carpet cleaning priced?
From $98.60. $98.60 for the first room and $68.44 for each additional room. Final pricing is shown during booking. A standard room is approximately 3 × 3 metres to 3 × 3.5 metres; larger spaces need to be confirmed with us.
Do you clean rugs, couches or upholstery in Hoppers Crossing?
Our carpet service is for fitted carpet. For rugs, couches or other upholstery, call 1300 280 576 before booking to check what we can do.
Will you move furniture?
Our carpet cleaners can help move light furniture. They do not move heavy or bulky furniture and do not provide a removalist service, so please clear small items and anything fragile from the floor.
Can you remove every stain?
Not always. Many spots lift with pre-treatment and steam cleaning, but some stains (for example dyes, bleach or old pet urine) may only fade. Tell us about them when you book.
Do I need to be home?
Not necessarily. Power and water must be connected, and we coordinate access with you when you book.
Do I need my carpets cleaned when I move out?
Not always. In Victoria, a rental provider can only require professional cleaning at the end of a tenancy in limited cases (Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021 (Vic), reg 12). Check your lease and condition report, and see moving out and claiming your rental bond. If you need it, carpet steam cleaning can be added to an end of lease clean in the same booking.
