How we steam clean your carpets
- Vacuum to lift loose dirt and grit.
- Pre-treat marks and high-traffic areas to loosen dirt and stains.
- Hot water extraction: hot water is worked into the fibres and extracted with the dirt.
- Extract the water: our extraction removes most of the water, so carpets dry faster.
We bring the machine and products. Our cleaners move light furniture only, so please move heavy or bulky items before we arrive.

What to expect with stains
Steam cleaning lifts most everyday dirt and many stains. Some stains, such as old or set-in marks, may need extra treatment and may not come out completely. Point out any stains when we arrive and we’ll tell you what we can do.

Pollen season, thunderstorm asthma and smoke: carpet care in each region
A steam clean can help reduce dust and allergens in your carpets, but it isn’t a treatment for hay fever or asthma, so keep following your doctor’s advice. Here is what the health authorities say for each area.
Canberra and Queanbeyan
ACT Health says the ACT pollen season typically runs from September to December: tree pollen is common from September to October and grass pollen from October to December. You can check levels in the AirRater app, or with the Canberra Pollen Count and Forecast Service, which forecasts grass pollen in the air around Canberra for the next 6 days (ACT Health: pollen levels and your health). Book carpet cleaning in Canberra or carpet cleaning in Queanbeyan.
Melbourne
In Victoria, the grass pollen season usually runs from 1 October to 31 December, and the Department of Health runs its epidemic thunderstorm asthma risk forecast over the same months. Thunderstorm asthma can occur when there is a lot of grass pollen in the air and a specific kind of thunderstorm, and people with current, past or undiagnosed asthma or springtime hay fever are at risk (Better Health Channel). For the rest of the home, the Better Health Channel’s hay fever advice includes washing sheets and pillowcases weekly in hot water and drying bedding and clothing inside or in a tumble dryer. See carpet cleaning in Melbourne.
Geelong
Geelong is on the same Victorian pollen calendar. For a home that smells of smoke because of bushfire, EPA Victoria suggests opening the doors and windows (sunlight and fresh air help remove the odour), washing indoor surfaces with mild soap or detergent and water, and airing soft furnishings outside in the sunshine and wind. It also notes that ash settles around your home and garden for several days after the fire has gone (EPA Victoria).

Carpet cleaning questions
When is pollen season in Canberra?
According to ACT Health, the ACT pollen season typically runs from September to December. Tree pollen is common in September and October, and grass pollen from October to December. Daily levels are in the AirRater app and the Canberra Pollen Count and Forecast Service (ACT Health).
When is thunderstorm asthma season in Melbourne and Geelong?
Victoria’s grass pollen season usually runs from 1 October to 31 December, and the Department of Health’s epidemic thunderstorm asthma risk forecast runs over the same period (Department of Health, Victoria). If you have asthma or hay fever, follow your own asthma plan; a carpet clean is general cleaning, not a medical treatment.
How much does carpet cleaning cost?
$98.60 for the first room and $68.44 for each additional room. A standard room is approximately 3 × 3 m to 3 × 3.5 m; larger spaces need confirmation. Final pricing is shown during booking.
How do you clean carpets?
We vacuum, pre-treat marks and high-traffic areas, then steam clean with hot water extraction and extract most of the water.
Do you move furniture?
Our cleaners move light furniture only. Please move heavy or bulky items before we arrive; we don’t offer a removalist service.
Can steam cleaning remove all stains from carpets?
Steam cleaning removes most everyday dirt and many stains. Some stains need extra treatment and some can’t be removed completely, so point them out when we arrive.
Is steam cleaning safe for all types of carpets?
Steam cleaning is safe for most carpets, including wool, nylon and polyester. Some carpets need special care, so check the manufacturer’s guidelines and tell us about your carpet when you book.
Do I need carpets cleaned when I move out?
It depends on your state and your lease. Our end of lease cleaning page explains the rules in the ACT, Victoria and NSW, and you can add carpet steam cleaning to an end of lease clean.
How often should I get my carpets cleaned?
Most homes benefit from a professional clean at least once a year, and more often with pets or heavy foot traffic. Regular vacuuming between cleans helps.
