End of Lease Cleaning Services Belmont

Most of the work at the end of a lease is the stuff, not the scrubbing. Clear it first and the cleaners can reach every cupboard, floor and window track, and the agent walks into empty rooms at the inspection.

City of Greater Geelong gives eligible residential properties two hard waste and two mattress collections each financial year. Its hard waste booking rules include a few that matter when you’re moving out:

• you must be living at the property for the whole collection week (Monday to Friday), so pick a week that finishes before your move-out date;
• if a previous owner or tenant has already used both bookings this financial year, you wait until the next one, so check early;
• items go out by the Sunday night before your week, in one pile of up to three cubic metres, within five metres of the front boundary and not on a porch or carport;
• hard waste and mattresses are separate bookings, and building materials, chemicals, gas bottles, paint tins that still hold paint and green waste are not collected.

For smaller loads, the council’s interim Geelong Resource Recovery Centre at 21 Slevin Street, North Geelong takes free domestic quantities of small electricals, TVs, clean flattened cardboard and clean glass bottles, 8am to 4:15pm, seven days a week, while the main Douro Street site is redeveloped. At the ABS 2021 Census, 77.7% of Belmont’s 6,205 occupied private dwellings were separate houses and 35.1% were rented. If your lease includes a garage, shed or yard, read the condition report for what’s expected outside. Our clean includes a garage sweep and cobweb removal, so leave the floor clear of boxes and rubbish.

Consumer Affairs Victoria says every renter, including those with pets, must keep the property reasonably clean and avoid damage. Where pet damage is disputed, VCAT considers fair wear and tear and the age and condition of the item, and rental providers can’t ask for an extra ‘pet bond’. Pet hair settles where a quick vacuum misses it:

• skirting boards and door bottoms, which our checklist wipes and spot cleans;
• split-system air conditioner filters, which we clean (ducted systems aren’t included);
• bedroom window tracks and wardrobe floors;
• carpets, where hair and odour sit deep in the pile: add carpet steam cleaning when you book if your lease or condition report calls for it.

Take care of the outdoor jobs before cleaning day: clear the yard after the dog, remove pet bedding and empty litter trays, so nothing is carried back across freshly mopped floors.
