Caulfield pets: Glen Eira's cat curfew, renting rules and carpets
Glen Eira City Council has adopted a cat curfew: from late 2026, cats must stay on their owner’s property between 7pm and 6am. Council suggests adjusting your cat’s routine, keeping it indoors, building an enclosure or cat run, or cat-proofing your property.
Renting with a pet? Consumer Affairs Victoria’s pets in rental properties page explains that you ask your rental provider for permission with a separate form for each pet, and the provider has 14 days to decide. A rental provider can’t charge an extra pet bond, but renters must keep the property reasonably clean, and if a pet causes damage the provider can issue a breach of duty notice.
Planning a carpet clean before you move out? Note your pets, stains and any recent spills in the booking form’s instructions field. Our carpet cleaners move light furniture only.
Grass pollen season: habits for a fresher Caulfield home
Victoria’s grass pollen season usually runs from 1 October to 31 December, according to the Better Health Channel’s thunderstorm asthma page, which suggests checking the Melbourne Pollen Count and Forecast.
Its hay fever advice includes staying indoors where possible during pollen season, especially on windy days or after thunderstorms, and drying bedding and clothing inside or in a tumble dryer. For pet allergens it suggests keeping pets out of bedrooms, and for dust mites, washing sheets and pillowcases weekly in hot water.
We also clean in Elsternwick, Carnegie, Glen Huntly and Balaclava. Every area is on our Melbourne cleaning services page, and bin days and hard rubbish are under bins, bulky waste and tips on this page.
