Moving out of a Camberwell rental with a dog or cat
In Victoria, renters ask their rental provider for permission to keep a pet using a pet request form, one for each animal, and rental providers can’t ask for an extra bond as a ‘pet bond’. - Fleas: Consumer Affairs Victoria gives fleas left in a property because a pet wasn’t treated as an example of a problem the renter may be responsible for. Flea and pest treatment isn’t part of our checklist, so sort that out before the clean.
Updating your pet's Boroondara registration
Camberwell is in the City of Boroondara. The council requires dogs and cats over three months old to be microchipped and registered, with registration due on 9 April each year, and you must update your pet’s registration details when you or your pet move. Coming from another Victorian council, Boroondara may waive the fees if you show your current registration. Camberwell tap water, shower screens and the spring pollen season

Its 2025–26 Drinking Water Quality Report lists Camberwell (3124) in water sampling area 53, Kew, where hardness averaged 17 mg/L across four quarterly samples (15 to 18 mg/L), against a guideline mean of no more than 200 mg/L. Before your final inspection
In Victoria, renters must leave the property reasonably clean, with fair wear and tear excepted, and the condition report from the start of the agreement is the reference. Since 29 March 2021 a rental provider can only require professional cleaning at the end of the tenancy if the property was professionally cleaned immediately before you moved in and you were told, or if it is needed to return the property to its condition at the start, allowing for fair wear and tear.
