Choose a cleaning service in Surrey Hills
Each service has its own page with what is included, how pricing works and how to book.
Houses and units: planning a clean in Surrey Hills
- In a four- or five-bedroom house, enter every bedroom and bathroom in the booking form so the time and price match the job, and count each carpeted room separately.
- In a small block of units, check with your owners corporation or building manager where our cleaners can park and how equipment should come through the common areas.
- Power and water must be connected and available for any clean, so keep the utilities on until your end of lease clean is finished.
Leftover chemicals, condensation and our cleaning services in Surrey Hills
Packing up can turn up half-used cleaning products and old paint. Whitehorse City Council’s moving-out waste flyer says toxic household chemicals can’t go in any household bin or down the drain; drop them at a free Detox Your Home event instead. It also says batteries can’t go in any bin because they can cause fires, and that booked hard waste goes on the nature strip the weekend before your collection week, no earlier, with the ‘BOOKED’ sticker visible from the road. Bin days, hard waste and tips for both councils are in bins, bulky waste and tips in Surrey Hills.
Mould is the other thing worth catching before an inspection. The Better Health Channel lists condensation from cooking, showering and drying clothes as common causes, and suggests exhaust fans or open windows, wiping condensation off windows and shower glass, and moving furniture away from walls. Consumer Affairs Victoria says renters should tell the rental provider about mould or damp straight away: a renter may be responsible if mould formed because the bathroom fan wasn’t used, and the rental provider if a building fault, such as a leaking window frame, caused it.

Moving day in Surrey Hills: parking, skips and unwanted furniture
Surrey Hills is split between the City of Boroondara and Whitehorse City Council. Check which council collects your bins, then follow that council’s rules below.
- City of Boroondara: Boroondara doesn’t publish a moving-day parking permit, and its tradesperson permit excludes heavy or long vehicles.
- City of Boroondara: Only registered skip companies can apply for a skip permit on a road or Council land. Shipping containers on Council land need a road and footpath occupancy permit.
- City of Boroondara: Council lists local op shops, free collection of donated goods by Sacred Heart Mission’s op shops, and the Boroondara Hard Rubbish Rehome group.
- Whitehorse City Council: Whitehorse’s Service Residential Parking Permit gives short-term exemptions (up to a month) from timed restrictions for residents on restricted streets, with quotes or receipts as evidence; the page doesn’t mention removalists by name.
- Whitehorse City Council: A skip or shipping container on Council land needs a permit applied for by the contractor, at least 48 business hours ahead.
- Whitehorse City Council: Council suggests op shops, charity furniture collection and the Eastern Emergency Relief Network for usable furniture and whitegoods, and has a moving-out flyer.
In Victoria, it’s illegal to put e-waste in household rubbish, so take old electronics to an e-waste drop-off.
