Professional Services for End of Lease, Bond Return, Vacate, and Lease Completion Cleaning
End of lease, bond, vacate and lease end cleaning are one service: a full clean of your rental, to our checklist, before you hand back the keys.
Clearing out a Greensborough rental: hard rubbish in Banyule and Nillumbik
Greensborough sits across two councils. Most hard rubbish questions start with working out which one collects from your street: Banyule City Council or Nillumbik Shire Council, which lists “parts of Greensborough” among its suburbs. The two run quite different booking systems, so check before you start stacking furniture on the nature strip.
Getting unwanted items out early also helps the clean itself. Our standard package sweeps the garage and removes cobwebs there, and cupboards and wardrobes are wiped inside, but the cleaners need those spaces empty to do it properly.
On the Banyule side
- Properties charged a residential waste rate get two booked-waste allocations a year, issued on 1 January; unused allocations expire at the end of the year. Book through Banyule City Council.
- A single hard waste collection is a neat stack about 1 m deep, 1 m wide and 1 m high (1 cubic metre) and uses one allocation; a double load of 2 m³ uses both.
- Put items out the night before, because collection starts very early, and no more than 4 days before collection day.
- A mattress and a bed frame need two separate bookings.
- Fridges, freezers, air conditioners, building materials, glass, paints, chemicals, gas bottles and green waste are not collected.
Renting? Allocations belong to the property, not the tenant, so ask your agent or landlord whether any are left for this year before you plan around one.
On the Nillumbik side
- Households can book one free hard waste collection per financial year, up to two cubic metres. Unused collections expire at the end of the financial year. Book through Nillumbik Shire Council, which uses WM Waste Management Services.
- WM emails your collection date and instructions within two business days. Items go out on the weekend before the collection date.
- Up to two mattresses or bases can go, but they count towards the two cubic metres.
- Batteries, tyres, paint and other liquids, gas bottles, asbestos, green waste and building or renovation waste are not collected.
Running out of time for a booked pick-up? Banyule’s Waste Recovery Centre in Bellfield takes general household rubbish for a fee (card or EFT only, no cash), but it does not accept mattresses and is part-way through upgrades that have changed what it takes. Our Greensborough local guide has both councils’ tips, skip permits and moving-day parking in one place.
Greensborough townhouses, houses and pets: what to sort before the clean
According to the ABS 2021 Census, Greensborough had 7,762 occupied private dwellings: 84.9% separate houses, 12.6% semi-detached, row or terrace houses and townhouses, and 2.4% flats or apartments. Of the 1,341 rented homes (17.3%), 858 were separate houses, 387 were semi-detached, row or terrace houses or townhouses (about 29% of rentals, compared with 12.6% of all homes) and 87 were flats or apartments.
Leaving a separate house
The garage sweep and the laundry benches, sink and floor are part of the standard clean. If the report mentions external windows or a balcony, add external window washing (accessible areas, up to a two-step ladder) or the balcony sweep and mop when you book.
Leaving a townhouse or unit
Put parking directions, gate or building codes and anything the cleaners need to know in the booking form’s instructions field, and check your owners corporation rules for when furniture can be moved through common areas.
Moving out after living with a pet
Consumer Affairs Victoria says renters need the rental provider’s consent to keep a pet (using a Pet request form for each animal) and must keep the property reasonably clean and avoid damage; when VCAT looks at pet damage it considers fair wear and tear. Read the pet rules for renters. For the clean, vacuuming, mopping and skirting boards are included; carpet steam cleaning is an extra you can add if your lease or condition report calls for it.
Cat owners should also know the two councils differ: Banyule has a 7pm to 7am cat curfew across the municipality until 31 January 2027, while Nillumbik has required cats to be kept on their owner’s property at all times since 30 September 2025. If a pet will be home on cleaning day, say so in the booking form.

What our clients say

Rubbish and unwanted items before you move out
Arrange removal of rubbish and unwanted furniture before your end of lease clean and key handover. Greensborough is split between councils, and each sets its own hard waste booking rules, so check yours early in case the next available collection is after your moving date.
For each council’s bin collection lookup, hard waste rules and drop-off sites, see bins, bulky waste and tips in Greensborough.
Getting your bond back in Greensborough
- Refund: Victorian bonds are held by the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA). When you and your rental provider agree, the RTBA usually repays the bond within one business day.
- Evidence that helps: your entry condition report, the final inspection and dated photos taken when you leave.

End of Lease Cleaning Services Frequently Asked Questions
Do you clean blinds as part of end of lease cleaning in Greensborough?
Blind cleaning isn’t in the standard package, but you can add it when you book: it covers a wipe-down, dusting and general blind cleaning. Window tracks (inside) are already included in every end of lease clean.
How do I book a hard rubbish collection in Greensborough before I move out?
It depends on your council. Banyule properties get two booked-waste allocations each calendar year (a single collection is about 1 cubic metre), while Nillumbik households get one free collection each financial year of up to two cubic metres, booked through WM Waste Management Services. Our Greensborough local guide links both councils’ booking pages.
Can I keep a pet in a rental in Greensborough?
In Victoria, renters ask for the rental provider’s consent with a Pet request form; if the provider doesn’t respond within 14 days, the renter can keep the pet, and a refusal has to go through VCAT. Check the Consumer Affairs Victoria pet rules and your council’s cat rules, and add carpet steam cleaning to your end of lease booking if your lease requires it.
How long does lease end cleaning take?
A 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom property starts from about 3 cleaning hours. Every home is different: larger homes, heavy build-up and extras such as carpet steam cleaning take longer. The booking form shows the estimated time and price for your property.
What if my agent spots something after the clean?
Let us know within 72 hours of your clean and we’ll come back and re-clean those areas free. Terms apply.
How much is end of lease cleaning in Greensborough?
End of lease cleaning starts from $249.40 for a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom property. Use the estimator on this page for a guide, then see your price for your address when you book online.
Can you clean before the final inspection in Greensborough?
Yes. An end of lease clean is the clean before your final inspection. Book it after your furniture is out and as close to the inspection as your moving plans allow.
Do I need a parking permit for the removal truck in Greensborough?
Banyule doesn’t publish a moving-day parking permit. Using the road, footpath or nature strip in a way that blocks others needs a road occupation permit. See moving day in Greensborough for skips and storage pods.

Before your final inspection
In Victoria, renters must leave the property reasonably clean, with fair wear and tear excepted, and the condition report from the start of the agreement is the reference. Since 29 March 2021 a rental provider can only require professional cleaning at the end of the tenancy if the property was professionally cleaned immediately before you moved in and you were told, or if it is needed to return the property to its condition at the start, allowing for fair wear and tear. Carpet steam cleaning can be added to your end of lease clean in the same booking: see carpet cleaning in Greensborough.
